Hundreds of people came along to Abundance Fruit Day on a beautiful September day in St Marks Church garden. We sold over £1,200 of produce, including about 300 jars of jam (ranging from affordable £1 jars to gourmet preserves), 50 litres of freshly pressed apple juice, as well as dozens of cakes, pies, plants etc.
Also, this year we featured Abundant Art – local artists painted the Fruit Day landscape and their works were displayed in Elys window.
Fruit Day 2013 was on Sat 21st Sept at St Mark's Church hall and garden (behind Wimbledon Library). Lots of juice pressed, pies made, cakes and jam sampled, plants bought .... and lots and lots of jars of jam, jelly and chutney sold.
Our second Fruit Day was on Saturday 15th of Sept at St Mark’s Church garden and hall and was opened by Mayor David Williams.
There were even more stalls than last year, selling jams, jellies, chutneys, fruit cakes and pies. People could taste apple, pear or grape juice fresh from the fruit press, or sample the range of jams and jellies including unusual flavours such as rosehip or rowan, all for free...
