Abundance Wimbledon Newsletter
Late July 2023
Welcome to our late July newsletter!
We thought we would squeeze in another newsletter before the month ends to keep you updated on all the goings on at Abundance Wimbledon. Read about our latest fruit picks and find out ways to get involved!
Plants needed for stall
On Fruit Day we have a number of stalls with homemade produce but did you know we also have a plant stall? 🌿
JP runs the stall, with help from Deb, and he provides many of the plants for sale. You can get involved too - If you have any surplus healthy plants from your garden or home, please bring them along to donate to the stall on Fruit Day.
The money raised goes to local charities. Last year, we donated to the Mitcham and Morden Guild, Faith in Action, Wimbledon Night Shelter, Deen City Farm and the local Food Bank. We also donate fruit trees to be planted in the local community.
One of our little community apple trees thriving in Singleton Close, Colliers Wood.
Fruit Picking has begun!
Fruit picking has got off to an earlier than usual start this year with volunteers reaching high to pick local plums and Carolyn's amazing crop of apricots. Look out for delicious plum and apricot jams for sale at Fruit Day!
