Abundance Wimbledon Newsletter
July 2026

Picture

Welcome to our Abundance Summer Newsletter.

Well, July certainly broke temperature records, with Merton basking in sunshine.

Fruit Day 2026

Hopefully our 16th annual Fruit Day will be another sunny occasion. Given we picked over 3000kg of fruit in 2025 imagine how much fruit has been picked since our first summer in 2011.

Save the date

Saturday 12th September, 11.00am - 2.30pm

Where to find us:
St Mark's Church Hall & Grounds
St Mark's Place
Wimbledon, SW19 7ND.

The Abundance Fruit Day is the culmination of each years efforts to reduce fruit waste, raise money for local charities and engage with the local community. Produce on sale includes a great range of homemade jams, chutneys, cakes, crumbles, honey and of course our legendary freshly pressed apple juice.

Stalls
This years stalls feature the following:

* Homemade Treats- jams, chutneys, cordials, cakes and  crumbles

* Local Honey - fresh from apiaries in Martin Way and Tooting

* Apple Press - freshly pressed on the day, apples prepared that morning by an army of volunteers

* Apple pie making - popular with younger visitors who (under guidance) make & take home their apple pie.

* Children's activities - a range of fun fruit themed activities for children of all ages. This again includes the popular storytelling workshop for children aged 2-5, run by Tinka the puppeteer.
Places can be reserved on the day, full details in our next newsletter.

* Friends of the Earth

* Longest Peel competion - run by local Girl Guides who also manage the Abundance Wimbledon Raffle

* Plant stall - all plants donated for sale by local gardeners
