DONATING EXCESS FRUIT AND VEGETABLES

Abundance Wimbledon have an important group of local residents who have excess fruit and vegetables (picked or unpicked) which we redistribute in a number of ways:
  • to local charities (for cooking and eating)
  • to our team of volunteer cordial, jam and chutney makers
  • for juicing via our apple press on Friday Day each year

If you have fruit and vegetables that are excess to requirements in our region, please contact Juliet at abundancewimbledon@gmail.com

From there, Juliet will put you in touch with your local Area Coordinator who will coordinate a time for either direct pick up (by one of our delivery drivers) or for a team of pickers to come to you to rescue the available fruit and vegetables.

The more notice you are able to give us the better - as that allows more notice for our drivers and pickers.

To find out more information or register your interest as a donor, please email Juliet at abundancewimbledon@gmail.com

We are most active in the months of June-mid September which is the ripening season for an array of fruit and vegetables.

Over the last 9 years, Abundance Wimbledon has donated £4,545 in cash to local charities

In 2019 Abundance Wimbledon rescued 1,910.5kgs of fruit.
